Tiumen, under Josef Vana (the icon of Czech turf), won the Great Pardubice Steeple-Chase (one of the most difficult steeple-chases worldwide) three times (within the period 2009-2011).
He is the only horse of Polish breeding that won this famous race (played since 1874!) and one of eight that won three times. The mare ORPHEE DES BLINS trained by Polish trainer Grzegorz Wróblewski belongs to these 8 horses (she won in the period 2012-14).
After the hat trick, Tiumen started in the Great Pardubice Steeple-Chase three times more and was placed third, sixteenth and he did not end one race.
In his all career, he moved up in the world in hurdle races (2xI) and steeplechases of cross-country type (5xI), and the sum of his wins exceeded CZK7,300,000!
The inconspicuous gelding comes from the family of the mare TIRANA from Jan Bronikowski’s breeding that is famous of talented horses, both in racing (TOSKAŃCZYK, TITANIC, TOSKANELLA, TOSKANO, TOTUS, TURNUS, TREBIA, TORYT, TIJA) and sport (TIMUR, TYRAS, TENOR, TIKSI, TORREADOR), as well as stallions used in national breeding of half-bred horses (TOLEDO, TEXAS).
